Bioten Co., Ltd. ("the Company") adheres to the Personal Information Protection Act to safeguard user privacy and rights. This policy ensures smooth handling of any user grievances related to personal information.

Your information is both a valuable personal asset and a critical resource for our company operations. Hence, we commit to rigorously protect your personal information at every operational stage.

Should there be any revisions to this privacy policy, they will be announced via our website.

Chapter 1: Consent Procedure for Personal Information Collection

"The Company has established a procedure where you can agree or disagree with the content of our website's privacy policy or terms of service by clicking the (Agree) or (Do Not Agree) buttons. Clicking (Agree) is considered as giving consent to the collection of personal information."

Chapter 2: Purpose of Collection and Use of Personal Information

The Company utilizes personal information for the following purposes. This information will not be used for any other purposes, and we will seek prior consent if the usage objectives change.

- A. Name, ID, Password: To confirm membership intentions, prevent service misuse, monitor access frequency, and for identification procedures in member services.

- B. Email Address, Phone Number (confirmation of receipt): For delivering notices, confirming intentions, handling complaints, securing communication channels, offering event and promotional information, and gathering statistics on service usage.

- C. Address, Phone Number: For ensuring accurate delivery of prizes and goods.

Chapter 3: Transmission of Advertising Information

- A. The Company does not send advertising information for profit purposes against your explicit refusal to receive such information.

- B. The Company informs you of changes to terms, service modifications, new services/products, event information, and other product information via email, mobile text messages, or other comprehensive transmission mediums, adhering to the relevant legal requirements and methods.

- C. In online marketing activities, when sending promotional information via email, the subject and body of the email are designed for easy recognition.

Chapter 4: Range of Personal Information Collection

The Company allows free access to most content without a separate membership registration process. However, to use member services, the following information must be provided:

- A. Personal Information Collected: Name, email, date of birth, ID, password, gender, address, mobile phone number, email receipt preference, SMS receipt preference, service usage record, access log, customer information received (name, phone number, address, email).

- B. Method of Collecting Personal Information: Through website membership registration and message boards.

Chapter 5: Retention and Usage Period of Personal Information

After achieving the purpose of collecting and using personal information, the Company will immediately destroy the information. However, the following information will be retained for the period stated for these reasons:

- Retained Items: Name, Login ID, Password, Email, Date of Birth.
- Basis for Retention: To prevent misuse by banned members.
- Retention Period: 1 month.

Furthermore, if required by law, the Company will retain member information for the legally specified period.

Record of consumer complaints or disputes: 3 years (as per the Act on the Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce, Etc.).

Chapter 6: Procedures and Methods for Destruction of Personal Information

In principle, the Company will destroy personal information immediately after the purpose of processing the information is achieved. The procedure, period, and method of destruction are as follows:

- Destruction Procedure: Information provided by members for registration purposes is transferred to a separate DB (paper records are stored separately) after achieving the intended purpose, and is stored for a certain period according to internal policies and other legal reasons (refer to the retention and usage period) before being destroyed. Personal information stored in a separate DB is not used for any purpose other than retention, unless required by law.

- Destruction Deadline: Personal information will be destroyed within 5 days from the end of the retention period or when it is deemed no longer necessary, such as upon achieving the processing purpose, discontinuation of the service, or end of the business.

- Destruction Method: Electronic file format information is destroyed using a technical method that cannot reproduce the record.

Chapter 7: Measures to Ensure the Security of Personal Information

According to Article 29 of the Personal Information Protection Act, the Company takes the following measures to ensure the security of personal information:

- A. Minimization and Training of Staff Handling Personal Information: The Company implements measures to manage personal information by designating staff responsible for handling it and minimizing their number.

- B. Encryption of Personal Information: User information, including passwords, is stored and managed through encryption, allowing only the user to access it. Important data is protected using encryption for files and transmission or by using separate security functions such as file locking.

Chapter 9: Feedback and Complaint Handling

The Company values your opinions and believes you have the right to receive sincere responses to any queries. For smooth communication with our members, we operate a customer service center.

Real-time and telephone consultations are available only during business hours. We will respond sincerely to consultations via email or post within 24 hours of receipt. However, we adhere to the principle of processing the next day for inquiries received after working hours, or on weekends and public holidays. The Company's measures for misappropriated personal information are as follows.

1. Upon discovering that a user has registered as a member using someone else's personal information, we will immediately take necessary actions such as suspending the service or terminating the membership of the concerned ID.

2. If a user recognizes the misuse of their personal information and requests suspension of service or membership withdrawal for the concerned ID, immediate action will be taken.

Chapter 10: Duty of Notification

This privacy policy will be implemented from the date of enforcement. In case of any additions, deletions, or corrections in accordance with the law and policies, such changes will be notified through our notice board 7 days before the implementation.

Unauthorized collection of email addresses published on this website is prohibited.

The use of electronic mail collection programs or other technical devices for unauthorized collection of email addresses is strictly forbidden, and violators will be criminally prosecuted under the Information and Communication Network Law.
